About This Course

This course aims to orient the multiple adoption models and frameworks prevalent in the global and national landscape and equip learners to explore, situate, and critically evaluate the evidentiary base of the multiple adoption models to have their intended results across policy in education and different socio, economic, educational and cultural realities. Case studies of large and small Education Technology interventions documenting spread, scale and sustainability will be discussed and mapped to the frameworks and literature in adoption of education technologies. Programme evaluation of education technology programmes from the adoption perspective will be discussed.

Course Objectives:

The course aims to:

  • Explore adoption and diffusion literature in education technology.
  • Introduce study of adoption, diffusion, scale and sustainability of education technology programmes and interventions.

The course will be accessible to students who have registered for the MA in Education and Technology program.

Course is for Learners who are admitted to the long term MAET program of CETE, TISS.

Dr. Amina Charania Lead MA in Education & Teaching, Associate Professor, CETE, TISS

Dr. Amina Charania is an Associate Professor at Centre of Excellence in Teacher Education at Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS).

In the year 2010, she earned her doctoral degree at Iowa State University, USA, specializing in curriculum and instructional technology. She leads research, field action and teacher professional development programmes focusing on Constructivist teaching and learning with technology at scale. These interventions have brought national and international accolades.

Over the years, she has published and presented her research and practice in some of the leading journals internationally. Her research has provided evidence based frameworks and policy guidelines for teachers’ agency, pedagogical integration of technologies, and learners as producers concept for adolescents in government schools across multiple geographies. She has also served as a member of the Committee for Mentoring Mission, National Education Policy, anchored by NCTE 2021-22.
